sábado, dia vinte e seis de novembro

Boa tarde! Which of these actions wouldn’t you normally do at a good celebration? comer, beber, falar, chegar, rir, dançar, ouvir música, chorar, trabalhar
Tip: When learning something new, keep going over it. At least three times. For example, if doing an exercise/reading a text, look at it first and do it in your head, looking things up when necessary. Go back to it the next day and do the exercise in pencil (no dictionary this time). See what you remember. Correct it, but do not write in the answers for the wrong ones, just study them and understand what you got wrong. Later, go and have another go. Finally, go over it all again, going over difficult points and writing new words/grammar notes down somewhere

Quinta-feira, dia três de novembro

Boa tarde! Match the people to the verb: eu, tu, ele, nós, eles; gostamos, gostas, gosto, gostam, gosta
Tip: Learning the ways the verbs change is well worth the effort. Take it slowly, though, make sure you’ve got one tense before you move onto another, or you can get easily confused! But, once you’ve got some, the rest get easier to learn :)

Quarta-feira, dia vinte e um de Setembro

Bom dia!  Novo tema na sexta-feira… education or travelling?  Post a comment below to say which you prefer.
Match the action to the object.  ler, ver, ouvir – televisao, jornal, rádio
Tip:  Have you got any CDs for learning Portuguese?  Do you listen to them?  If there’s the script available, it’s very good to listen and read.  This will help you get used to the way we go from written to spoken Portuguese

Sábado, dia vinte e sete de Agosto

Bom dia! Match the verb to the correct noun. chuva, sol, neve, vento, trovoada, calor, frio ; soprar, arrefecer, chover, brilhar, nevar, aquecer, trovejar
Tip: Está a + verb= It’s -ing E,g, Está a chover=It’s raining. O sol está a brilhar=The sun’s shining. A very easy way to make sentences (slightly different to how it’s done in Brazil)

Sexta-feira, dia dezanove de Agosto

Boa tarde! Novo tema hoje – at the restaurant. Which of these things would you not eat? sopa, entrada, ementa, sobremesa
Tip: To say -don’t eat, doesn’t have, isn’t, can’t go etc (i.e. making a verb, action, negative) you simply put ‘nao’ in front of the action -nao come, nao tem, nao está, nao pode ir. There are various ways to do this in English, but only one way in Portuguese.
