Portuguese Language Lessons run classes and courses in the Central Portugal area (around Tomar, Alvaiázere and Ansião).  If you are interested in joining a class or course, you can contact me, Emma for more details.

The times and places for new courses will be decided by what most people want, so if you are interested, contact me and let me know what is best for you.  I will open new classes when there are enough people, so if you are interested in a course or class that is not running now, or in your area yet, get in touch with me because once there are enough people I can start a new class!

Information about Portuguese courses and lessons starting in October

Mondays 3.00-4.30pm Tomar: Workshop speaking class  4€/class, 15€=5 classes (a month)

 Tuesdays 11.30-1 Ansião:  Workshop speaking class   4€/class, 15€=4 classes (a month)

About the classes:

• The ‘workshop speaking class’ is a class focusing on learning new words and phrases that will be instantly useful to you in your life here.  Each lesson takes a topic (e.g. shopping, food, train travel…) and we study and practice vocabulary, listen to dialogues and you get a lot of opportunity to speak and practice the new items.  This class is good for all levels anyone can come along to any class.  And as we look at a different subject each week, if you have to miss a class you won’t get behind.
• The ‘level 3 course’ is for those who have a good vocabulary, and in terms of verb tenses, have studied present regular and irregular verbs and have also studied past regular and some irregular verbs.  We´ll be working on consolidating what you know, getting you speaking and more confident.  We’ll be roughly working from the book ‘Português sem Fronteiras 1’ from Unit 16 on.  This is a course, so we’ll be building up week to week, and there will be some homework to consolidate what’s been done in class.
• The ‘level 2 course’ is for those who have studied a bit, can conjugate regular verbs and common irregular verbs such as ‘ser’ estar’ and ‘ter’.  We’ll be working from the book ‘Português sem Fronteiras 1’ from unit 6.  This is a course, so we’ll be building up week to week, and there will be some homework to consolidate what’s been done in class.

About the venues:

In Ansião and Alvaiázere, the bombeiros kindly allow us to use the classroom there, for which we give a donation – so far (September 2012) Portuguese Language Lessons have donated well over 1,000€ to the Bombeiros!  Thanks to everyone for coming to the classes – it means we can donate to this very worthy cause!
