  1. Resposta: Well, this is a can of worms!! In general, obrigado is said by men, and obrigada is said by women. You often don’t hear the ending clearly though, due to the ending of the word being ‘swallowed’. I have heard that in different parts of Portugal/with older Portuguese this may vary, but I don’t have any concrete information for you, sorry!
